PHILADELPHIA - December 5, 2006 –To
usher in the holiday season, Santa Claus rang the opening bell at
the Philadelphia Stock Exchange on Tuesday, December 5. Remarks
began promptly at 9:20 a.m., 10 minutes before trading begins.
Members of the United States Marine Corps Headquarters Battery
3rd Battalion 14th Marines of Philadelphia were here to kick off
the annual “Toys for Tots” campaign.
The appearance of Santa Claus marked the final bell-ringing ceremony
in a yearlong series of special monthly opening bell ceremonies.
