PHILADELPHIA – Sept. 1, 2006 – Philadelphia Flyers center Jeff Carter rang the opening bell on Thursday, September 7 on the floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange in anticipation of 2006-07 Philadelphia Flyers season. The Philadelphia Flyers home opener of the 2006-07 regular season against the New York Rangers is scheduled at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, October 7 at 7 p.m.

Jeff Carter was chosen by the Flyers in the first round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and quickly made a name for himself during his rookie year with the club in the 2005-06 season. Carter finished third on the Flyers in goals with 23, including scoring a goal in nine of the team's final 17 regular season games. The 21-year-old is originally from London, Ontario
