PHILADELPHIA – June 1, 2006 – The Philadelphia Stock
Exchange observed National Hunger Awareness Day on Tuesday, June
6 at 9:15 a.m. with a special bell-ringing ceremony. Mayor John
F. Street, proclaimed June 6 Philabundance Day.
Philabundance Chairman of the Board, David Miller, rang the opening
bell. Philabundance and the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank, the
Delaware Valley's two largest hunger relief organizations recently
integrated to form a new entity, which operates under the Philabundance
name.
Mr. Miller presented Philabundance’s inaugural Harvesters
of Hope Award to Victoria Marshall and Chris McNabb, two teen volunteers
who have made great contributions to the community effort to stamp
out hunger.
Remarks began promptly at 9:15 a.m., 15 minutes before trading
began.
