THE PHILADELPHIA STOCK EXCHANGE TO OBSERVE MEMORIAL DAY WITH A SPECIAL OPENING BELL CEREMONY

PHILADELPHIA – May 22, 2006 – The Philadelphia Stock Exchange observed Memorial Day on Friday, May 26 at 9:20 a.m. by honoring the members of the armed services, past and present, with a special bell-ringing ceremony. Lieutenant Colonel Marc Ferraro, of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and Commander of the 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry, 28th Infantry Division, rang the opening bell. Soprano Rachael Garcia, of the Curtis Institute of Music, sang “God Bless America.”

Remarks began promptly at 9:20 a.m., 10 minutes before trading began.
