THE PHILADELPHIA STOCK EXCHANGE PLEDGES CONTRIBUTION FOR VICTIMS OF HURRICANE KATRINA

PHILADELPHIA – September 2, 2005 – The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that it will donate 10% of its gross revenues earned next week to support relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Chairman and CEO Meyer “Sandy” Frucher said, “On behalf of the Board, our trading community and the employees of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, we would like to offer our support to the victims of this catastrophe, and our thoughts and prayers remain with the people of the Gulf Coast.”
