PHILADELPHIA – June 28, 2005 – Philadelphia’s
own Benjamin Franklin will help celebrate America’s birthday
when he rings the opening bell on Friday, July 1. Joining him will
be Shalanda Bond from the Curtis Institute of Music. Bond, a soprano
who has appeared in several opera productions with the Curtis Opera
Company, will sing our National Anthem. Remarks will begin promptly
at 9:20 a.m., 10 minutes before trading begins.
The media is invited for interviews and filming starting at 9:15
a.m. in the Exchange's lobby at 1900 Market Street. Photography is
permitted on the trading floor.
