Rings The Opening Bell At The Philadelphia Stock Exchange

PHILADELPHIA – July 30, 2004 – Members of the Smarty Jones team rang the opening bell on the floor of the Exchange on Tuesday, August 3.
Randy and Michael Chapman, sons of Smarty’s owners Patricia and Roy Chapman, were there representing their family along with Sherry Servis, wife of Smarty’s trainer John Servis, and Bill Foster, who works with Mr. Servis to take care of Philadelphia’s hometown hero horse.
The appearance of the Smarty Jones team marks another in a yearlong series of prominent people invited to ring the opening bell every month. Philadelphia Mayor John F. Street kicked off trading for the New Year on the floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange on Friday, Jan. 2.
